Free Home Phone

I struggled with Magicjack for 3 years trying to get a cheap and reliable phone service to no avail. Then I found some forums mentioning the OBi110 Voice Service Bridge and VoIP Telephone Adapter by Obihai. These are currently available at Amazon for $49.99 Shipped and come in a cheaper OBI100 version if you lose your land line entirely. You need a google email and google voice account (both free). Then when your OBI 100 arrives follow the instructions on this link http://www.obihai.com/tutorial1.html. It takes a novice under 20 minutes to set up. You will need to pick a google voice number to replace your old one. The cool thing is that google voice can be used as your answering machine to get an email and have a notification appear in your smartphone toolbar to listen to messages. Or you can use it as a basic phone with your answering machine pick it up if your so inclined. You will not get 911 unless you pay a nominal monthly fee for it. The OBI plugs into your router so there is no need to leave your computer on and has been trouble free for the few months that I have had it.
