Google Voice- free text and calling

With my GV # as my home phone # and the GV app on my phone, I text for free from my home phone number on my cell phone. I still keep a $5 text plan for people who text me on my mobile number, then I reply back from GV and continue from there. This uses minimal data or wifi. You can also use GV to make calls using your wifi or data, saving on cell minutes. Also, if you're at your computer, you can text much easier from the GV website. All you need is a gmail and google voice account set up with your pick of phone numbers.
